Hidalgo County New Mexico

Stanley Harris, husband of Nina.
August 13,1890 - April 1968

James Stanley was the only child born to Charles Mayer Harris and Betty Harrington. He was born in Mineral Wells, Texas. The family moved to Douglas, Arizona in the early 1900’s so that Charles could be close to his favorite uncle, Ollie Harris.

Stanley grew up there and married Nina Marken at the Marken homestead on June 27th, 1920. They moved into Rodeo where Stanley and Frank Officer ran the garage.

In 1930, Stanley had a cancerous growth removed from his lip and it left him badly scarred. He never complained and thanked God that he was still alive.

Later, Stanley went on to own the Triangle Garage, Coffee Shop and Service Station on the south end of Rodeo. They lost it all in 1939-1940 due to back taxes.

After that misfortune, Stanley became a man of many trades. He was a mechanic, electrician, carpenter, and prospector.

He died in April of 1968 of prostate cancer. He was a kind, honest and gentle man.
