George Awtrey and his nephew Tom.

George Awtrey was born in Bisbee, Arizona and died in Deming, New Mexico. His parents were Fletcher Awtrey and Annie John Dean. George was the second child. George has and older brother Fletcher Jr.
His younger siblings were Alice, Bessie Ellen, Howard, Martha Arlene, Albert, Kitty and Ted. There were two half sisters Veta, and Candy. The family lived in Cloverdale and Animas where the
children went to school. George spent most of his life in the Animas and Rodeo area. He lived in Kentucky and California for awhile.
George was married and his wife Mildred died in Kentucky. George worked hard all his life. He was a fence builder and all around hand. If something needed to be done George could usually do it.
In his later years he lived in Rodeo and his nephew Tom Awtrey took care of him until he had a stroke and had to go live at Sunshine Haven in Lordsburg. Tom would go bring him back to Rodeo
for a visit when he could. George would enjoy getting to go out to have ice cream.
