Cox, Sara Jane Farmer
1856 - 1928
Born in Johnson County, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Thomas M. and Temperance Melinda Casey Farmer. She married William A. Cox in Coleman, Texas on the January 5, 1876.
They had children Ida, John, Tempy, Jessica, William, Betty, born in Texas and and twins Jim and Thomas born in the Chickasaw Nation in Oklahoma.
They went to Corona, New Mexico
and homesteaded around 1904. William died there and Sara Jane continued on. In 1924, she developed gallstones and it was thought a change of water might help. Her son John was working in
Rodeo so she and Jim moved there where they homesteaded many more acres. Sara died at the Sanford ranch in 1928.
