Larman, Lula Pearl Hale
December 29, 1909 - May 24, 2001
Lula Pearl was born at Apache, Arizona right after her parents, Henry L Hale and mom, Lula Jane Dill arrived from Rising Star, TX by covered wagon. She was raised in Cochise County and graduated from high school in Douglas. She married Leon Koontz in Lordsburg, New Mexico on July 21, 1927. They had a ranch and both of them worked at it. Lula Pearl loved the outdoors and worked very hard. They had one daughter, Verna Videll.

In the 50’s when the cattle prices fell, they moved into Douglas but still maintained the ranch. Their marriage ended in divorce.

Sometime later, she married Harrison Larman and they lived in Hurley and then moved to Douglas to be close to her grand-daughter Carolyn that she helped raise. Her mom, Lula Jane brought a begonia from Rising Star on that trip by covered wagon and it is still alive and well. Carolyn is now the caretaker.
