Loretta met Ed Rivers in the Buckeye area and married him in the 50’s. Ed was a heavy equipment operator that wanted out of the big city. He had an Uncle Ernie Rothpletz that lived in Rodeo so he moved there and leased and cleared some land. She had children Patsy, David, Larry, Sally, Sheila, and Edward Jr. before they left the Phoenix area.
She lived without running water and electricity or telephone with 6 children for 10 years! She sewed all of the kids clothes on a treadle machine and helped in the farm chores too. She was a good cook and helped plant the fruit trees around the house north of Rodeo. She drove the Animas school bus for 20 years.
