William’s dad was William R and mom was Jane Gowen; he was born in Cairo, Illinois.
He married Mary Elizabeth Wilson. He and his wife had two children,
Marjorie Jane and William O. He was transferred from Naco, Arizona about 1920 while working as a Station Agent for the Southern Pacific Railroad. He was very hard-working
and religious. His hobby was gardening and he was good to help others and very family oriented. Their son, William O, died suddenly at age four of a possible heart attack,
after seeing his dad fall in a water tank. Mary was the postmaster for 20 + years and when she retired, she went home to Alvin, Texas. His death record says he died of
“acute indigestion or heart attack.”
