Somoza, Ramon (Unmarked grave)

He was the son of Ramon and Angelita Somoza, born in Imuris, Sonora, Mexico.
He married Angela Gomez on November 12, 1938 in Douglas, Arizona.
They lived at Apache, Arizona and Ramon worked for Gus Kimble. He quit for a short time and worked for the Southern Pacific and then went back to work for
Kimble Cattle Company until his retirement in 1970.
He loved to play the guitar and sing. He and Angela had three children; Toni, Bernardo, and
Julio who were all raised in Rodeo, where Ramon and Angela had built a home. They donated the lot where the San Felipe Catholic Mission stands and with
the help of their family and friends, built the church in 1955.
Ramon and Angela lived in their home next door north of the church until his death
from heart failure in 1993. |
